Buyer’s Registration

All Buyers must register to bid in the Auctions. ‘Online’ Bidders must register online via the www.wellersauctions.com website. Bidders at present are not allowed to bid n the ‘Room’ due to Covid-19.

When customers are allowed back onto the premises, those who wish to bid in the room must register at Reception and collect a ‘Bidders Number’ which must be retained throughout the sale. The Auctioneer will not accept your bid in the saleroom without a ‘Bidders Number’.

 

Viewing

There is NO VIEWING for any stock heading to our auctions held at our Guildford Saleroom however; off-site auctions may have viewing available. Please check the ‘Important Information’ for each sale to check if this is available.

Please be sure on what you are bidding on as this is an ‘Online Only’ auction, and all stock is sold behind closed doors.

We offer condition reports for this auction. If you need any condition reports about a specific lot(s) then please send us an email to reception@wellersauctions.com before 7:00am Monday morning and we will endeavour to provide you with more information before the auction then starts at 9:00am. If you do not ask for a condition report, then you will be bidding at your own risk as set out in our T&C’s.

 

Absentee Bids

During Covid-19, you can place absentee bids online through our website by inserting a figure into the lot and selecting ‘place bid’.

 

As and when customers are allowed to return to bid in the room, If you are unable to attend the auction you may leave an absentee bid ith us at the saleroom, please fill in the printed yellow form which can be found in reception and return to one of our receptionists.

Payment

Payment must be made on the day of the sale if you are in attendance, If you have bid online via the Wellers Auctions website then you have until close of business (3:30pm) the following day to pay for your items at the absolute latest. If you have not paid by 3:30pm the day following the sale, you will be blocked for a minimum of 6 weeks and your lots will immediately be taken off your account and re-sold in the next available auction.

You must book a collection slot using the online ‘Collection Slot’ system which you can do by clicking HERE. You have 5 working days to collect your items and these MUST be collected. Any items not collected by the end of the five working days will incur a storage fee penalty of £25 per day for up to a maximum of 5 working days. If your items have still not been collected after the additional 5 days, your items will be re-entered into auction and you will receive a FULL REFUND for the items minus the £25 per day storage fee charges applicable on your account. If after these charges are applied and you owe us the storage fee, your account will be blocked until this additional amount outstanding is settled.

Paying and clearing all lots is mandatory for all lots won at auction. Bidding is a commitment to buy, and all accepted bids are contracts and are considered final and non-withdrawable.

 

Payment Methods

Payment may be made by Bank Transfer/Online Payment (Available during COVID-19)
CASH – Sterling ONLY (Not Available during COVID-19)
Payment may be made by Debit Card, in person and chip/pin only. (Not Available during COVID-19)
Credit Card is now no longer available to purchase your items with (as of 01/01/2020).

*Goods will not be released until payment is received and/or cleared through our Bank Account.

 

Failure to Collect Your Items

– Please let us know ASAP if you cannot attend your collection slot, the minimum we expect is 24 hours notice. If you let us know in less than 24 hours there will be a penalty charge added to your account. This slot can then be used by another customer and we ask you to think of others.

– Failure to make your pre-arranged collection slot will be charged at £10.00 and added to your next bill.

– If you don’t collect your items within the 5 working days timeframe, you WILL be charged a storage fee of £25 per day for a maximum of 5 days. If your items have still not been collected after the additional 5 days, your items will be re-entered into auction and you will receive a FULL REFUND for the items MINUS the £25 per day storage fee charges applicable on your account. If after these charges are applied and you still owe us the storage fee, your account will be blocked until this additional amount outstanding is settled.

– An admin charge of 50% WILL be applied to your account to re-book the items back into a future auction which MUST be paid in full.

– Paying and clearing all lots is mandatory for lots won at auction. Bidding is a commitment to buy, and all accepted bids are contracts and are considered final and non-withdrawable.

Non-Payment of Items

– If you do not pay by 3:30pm the day following the auction, YOU WILL be banned for a minimum of 6 weeks, and your lots will immediately be taken off your account and re-sold in the next available auction.

– Paying and clearing all lots is mandatory for lots won at auction. Bidding is a commitment to buy, and all accepted bids are contracts and are considered final and non-withdrawable.

– Any invoice that is not paid for, there WILL be a 50% admin fee that you WILL be liable for, and your lots will immediately be taken off your account and re-sold in the next available auction.

Refunds

– After an auction, it is the customer’s responsibility to check that the items bought are correct. Wellers Auctions will only consider refunds if the items bought are not as described and only if you the customer have brought this to our attention within 7 working days after the date of collection of the items. This decision is final.

 

Internet Bidding

There is no additional fee for bidding online in our auctions. Off-Site Auctions, Farm Auctions and Architectural Auctions may differ.

 

VAT

VAT at the current rate will be payable on all items marked with an asterisk (*) in the Description and Sale Catalogue.

 

Condition Reports

Condition Reports are now available for our General Auction Lots, please submit your condition report requests via our website by 7:00am latest on the sale day. Architectural and West Meon Prospective Bidders are strongly advised to email us for a condition report and any specific information required on a lot, if they are unable to view in person.

 

Warranty

All lots are sold without warranty, and no guarantees are given or implied as to their working condition. Bidders should be aware that Wellers Auctions specialise in Customer Returns and Lost Property. Given the quantity of lots sold each week (1,000-2,000) it is not possible for us to check if all items are in working order and the items are sold with no warranty, no guarantee and the descriptions/images are a guideline only. If you buy boxed items, we cannot guarantee all the accessories are there so make sure you email in for a condition report and find out more about the items before bidding on them.

Scratched, damaged, dented or items that do not work, there is no refund available unless stated as working and turns out not to be the case.

 

Insurance

All items on the premises are deemed to be insured by the Vendor before the fall of the hammer and by the Purchaser after the fall of the hammer.

 

Clearance

Subject to satisfactory payment (see above), all items should be removed and cleared from site after 5 working days. Please ensure you book your collection slot prior to your arrival.

We are operating a strict time slot system, please book a collection slot using the online ‘Collection Slot’ system which you can do by clicking HERE prior to collecting your items or booking a courier. DO NOT turn up without a collection slot. If you DO NOT have a collection slot you will be turned away and not served. We ask customers to stick to their slot so that we can continue to operate as efficiently as possible during these difficult times. Paying and clearing all lots is mandatory for all lots won at auction.
