With over 1,600 lots entered, three days of receiving, and a week full of sunshine Wellers Auctions can report our largest sale to date at West Meon. Over 350 buyers came out in their droves to discover a field at full auction capacity, featuring all things agricultural from old potato scales to a Fordson Dexta, Stihl chainsaws to brand new tools, plants to sacks of potatoes and so much more.

With the biggest crowed we have ever seen on site, Auctioneer Andrew Snelgar launched in selling plants and garden furniture selling one fire pit patio set for £500. Fellow Auctioneer Tom Lofts was soon to get going at the top of the field on the building sundries, new tools and general miscellany. He had a good run of tools before being relieved by Wayne Brough, who took over the reins and keeping the crowd entertained for a further 300 lots. One highlight was the 10 x 8 Office Cabin that sold for £2,500.

It wasn’t long before Rob Snelgar began selling the machinery attracting the largest crowd. It was great to see a good run of tractors and vehicles that included the Fordson Major £2,300, Massey 35 £4,000, Fordson Dexta £2,100, International 574 (spares and repair) £1,150, Mahindra E525 compact tractor £3,500 and the Bobcat Skidsteer £3,900.

‘Bygones and Architectural Salvage’ began with Tom and guest auctioneer Dick. This popular section saw a variety of prices but the highlights include Terracotta pier caps £640, Victorian cast iron pots £260, Anvil on stand £420 and slatted gates sold at £680.

Just after lunch Andrew once again got stuck in to the auction selling the selection of ‘Light Gound Maintenance & Workshop Tools’ to close the day off. The Atlas Copco Cobra Breaker £330, SCH Leaf Collector £600 and the Charter House Scarifier at £460 to name but a few of the lots that did particularly well in this section.

A great day out for buyers and sellers a like, Nosebag Catering had queues all day long for the lovely food as did Mr Whippy the ice cream van. We will be back at West Meon on Saturday 9th July and It would be great to see you there in your droves once again.
