Overview

Wellers Off-Site auctions are conducted by Glen Snelgar and his auction team. Instructions come from Clients who wish to reduce surplus stock, change business direction, move premises or retire and are usually held on the Clients own premises. What ever the reason for considering this type of sale, professionalism is assured.

Glen Snelgar's many years of auctioneering experience and the positive efficiency of his team will ensure the best results from the sale. For more information about our specialist sales please telephone our Chertsey Saleroom.

The off-Site auctions are held on Client premises, these sales are dependent upon individual client requirements and are typically held for reasons including retirement, relocation or sale of business premises, surplus stock and insolvency.

We can setup a sale on your premises with ease and open up an auction selling platform to worldwide markets using ATG media's the-saleroom.com or i-bidder.com depending on the type of inventory. We can also offer both selling platforms at the same time, to maximise the exposure of your sale.

Agricultural Auctions

Dockenfield Farm, Farnham, Surrey - 11th November 2010

Brief

In November 2010 Weller's senior Auctioneer was contacted by the executors of the Estate of the late BW Taylor of Dockenfield Farm to explore the possibility of disposing of the tractors and farm machinery by auction.

Instructions

Having valued the machinery for probate, a live on-site auction was decided as the best way to proceed; with no staff remaining at the farm Wellers supplied an experienced team of staff to ensure that the machinery was presented as being capable of starting and performing their main functions.

Action

Following an advertising campaign targeted at the agricultural sector, the sale was held on Saturday December 11th just after the first of the Winter's snowstorms but this did not stop nationwide interest in the top end tackle on offer and good local interest in the remaining machinery.

Result

Highlight of the day and the last lot of the day was the 2008 Landini DT 95 Tractor at £15600.00 plus premium and vat.

MASCo Walcot, Stroud, Gloucstershire - 24th September 2011

Grand Unreserved Auction of a wide range of Architectural salvage, reclaimed traditional building materials, fire surrounds and accessories, garden ornaments and interior decorative features

Brief

Following on from Wellers auction at the Salvo fair in June 2011 and previous successful sales at Pew Corner, Cox's Yard and Rob Grimmond's Guildford premises, Steve Tomlin and Debbie Kedge of Masco contacted Wellers to discuss various auction options prior to their planned retirement.

Instructions

Following our advice, our clients decided that a live unreserved auction held in conjunction with the i-bidder and saleroom.com internet live bidding platforms would give them the solution they needed.

Action

With just six weeks to prepare Steve and Debbie started to organise and tidy the stock in their yard and buildings. Presentation is the key to success of any auction enabling buyers to properly view and understand the individuality and potential of the lots on offer; at the same time the promotional campaign was well under way utilising both local and national press, TV and radio, worldwide mail-shots and social networks. The catalogue was prepared three weeks prior to sale and available to download free from our website.

Result

The sale on September 24th was preceded by 5 days of viewing and attracted over 500 registered buyers. The 1800 lots for sale were sold in 2 consecutive auctions supported by well over 300 buyers on the premises and frantic telephone and internet bidding. At the conclusion of the sale both auctioneers and clients were delighted to see that the original target of raising £250,000.00 had been doubled.
